Privacy Policy
Thematic Quran (“we”, “our”) is built offline-first: your worship data stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what little data is processed, and why.
١ Data That Never Leaves Your Device
- Location (GPS): used on-device only, to calculate prayer times, qibla direction and nearby mosques. Coordinates are never stored on our servers.
- Notifications: prayer & adhkar reminders are scheduled locally by your device's scheduler.
- Worship tracking: daily completion checklist, streak/heatmap, dzikir counter, reading position and app settings are stored locally on your device.
- Offline content: Quran text, translations, topics and duas are bundled in an encrypted on-device database (AES-256), plus any audio you download.
٢ Data Processed When You Use Online Features
- Account (if you register): email address, hashed password, display name, and — only if you provide them — phone number and profile photo. Verification codes are sent to your email.
- Session security: an anonymous device identifier (UUID) and a “last seen” timestamp, used to protect your account (one active device policy). We do not collect MAC addresses or advertising IDs.
- Security logs: IP address, endpoint, timestamp and status code, retained for rate-limiting, abuse prevention and monitoring.
- Your content: Kajian Notes (text, images, voice recordings) and profile photo are stored on our servers so they persist across sessions. Deleted notes are permanently purged in our daily cleanup job.
- Preferences: your chosen translation edition is synced to your account so it follows you across devices.
٣ Third-Party Services
- Google Play Billing: purchases are processed entirely by Google. We only receive your subscription status (entitlement) — never payment details.
- Google Sign-In: only if you choose to log in with Google.
- OpenStreetMap: Mosque Finder sends a query with your approximate location to return nearby places.
- equran.id: serves recitation audio when you stream (not when playing downloaded files).
- Firebase: hosts this website and the admin console.
- Email delivery provider: sends verification and password-reset emails.
٤ What We Do NOT Do
- No advertising and no ad trackers.
- We never sell or rent user data.
- No background location tracking — location is used only while you use prayer/qibla/mosque features.
٥ Children's Privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
٦ Retention & Deletion
Local data is removed when you uninstall the app. You may request account deletion (including your notes and media) at any time by emailing us; we action such requests within 30 days. Security logs are retained only as long as needed for monitoring.
٧ Security
All traffic uses TLS. The offline database is encrypted (AES-256/SQLCipher); auth tokens live in platform secure storage; servers apply rate limiting and anti-abuse controls.

The app is granted for personal, non-commercial use. Quran text, tafsir and adhkar are provided for study and guidance.
٣ Premium Subscription
Optional Premium features (Rp 29.000/month) are purchased via Google Play Billing. Pricing, renewal and cancellation are governed by Google Play's terms and managed in your Google Play account settings. Core ibadah features (prayer, qibla, Quran reading, dzikir, calendar, reminders) remain free forever.
٤ Account & Session Security
To protect accounts, we may limit simultaneous active devices per account. Signing in on a new device may sign out the previous session. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
٥ Your Content
You retain ownership of Kajian Notes and media you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, process and display that content solely to provide the service. You agree not to upload unlawful or infringing content.
٦ Content Accuracy
Content is compiled from authentic references (The Noble Quran, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir As-Sa'di, Hisnul Muslim, KHGT Muhammadiyah calendar). While we strive for accuracy, the app is provided “as is” — for religious rulings, please consult qualified scholars.
٧ Acceptable Use
You agree not to abuse, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to the service or its APIs.
٨ Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use or inability to use the app.
